EA Sports FC 27 is set to bring some of the biggest changes yet to Football Ultimate Team when it launches on September 18, 2026. EA Sports is introducing a new FUT Gallery collection system, redesigned Squad Building Challenges, expanded Evolutions, offline Live Events, and significant changes to progression and rewards.
FUT Gallery Turns Your Club Into a Collection
The biggest new addition is FUT Gallery, a permanent collection system that records every Player Item that enters your club. Cards acquired through packs, the Transfer Market, SBCs, Objectives, and other rewards can contribute to themed Gallery Sets—even if those cards are later sold or submitted into an SBC.
Gallery Sets are organized around categories such as leagues, clubs, nations, and campaigns. Completing a Set earns a grade based on the quality of the Player Items submitted, with higher-rated and special cards providing more points.
Improving Set grades also increases your Gallery Level. As that level rises, players can unlock cosmetics, Gallery Tokens, Holographic Items, and other seasonal rewards.
Gallery Tokens are a new currency that can be spent in the Gallery Token Store on items including kits, badges, and Hall of FUT historical collectibles. EA says the store will expand throughout the season, giving players additional reasons to keep building their collections.
A new Gallery Hub will also be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The hub provides a visual showcase for favorite collections and featured Player Items, while 3D card displays evolve alongside the club during the season.
Holographic Items Add More Collection Value
EA Sports FC 27 is also introducing Holographic Items, rare cosmetic variants of eligible special Player Items.
Holo versions do not alter gameplay attributes, meaning their value is primarily visual and collectible. However, they can provide additional points toward Gallery Set scores, giving collectors another way to improve their Gallery progression.

Offline Live Events Expand Solo FUT Content
Football Ultimate Team is also receiving more content for players who prefer to play alone.
Single Player Live Events will introduce offline challenges featuring themed AI opponents, custom squad requirements, tournament-style progression, and multiple difficulty levels. The system provides another progression route for users who do not want their FUT experience to revolve entirely around online competition.

Progression and Rewards Are Being Reworked
EA is making broader changes to the way FUT progression works throughout the year. Campaigns will feature fewer promotional squads, while attribute increases are expected to be more restrained.
Player Items will also receive a maximum of three PlayStyle+ traits instead of five. Special Items will additionally include Role++ familiarity across their primary and secondary positions, providing more tactical flexibility when building squads.
Rewards are being adjusted to provide faster progression as well. In selected modes, end-of-match rewards will now include FUT Coins and Season Points, reducing the need to wait for weekly rewards before making meaningful progress.
