About Me I have a BS and MS in Criminal Justice. When I first began my academic journey after high-school, I started off as a psychology major who desired to understand the mindset of criminals. After years of working in attorney offices and volunteering with programs for at-risk youths, I realized that I enjoyed having conversations with the youth that were goal oriented, motivating, and encouraging. Shortly after my volunteer experience, I took a pay cut to be a case manager at a residential treatment facility, where I currently work as a qualified mental health professional. My job duties include weekly individual and group sessions and crazy documentation. I am pursuing a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy because I would like to become licensed and also learn more ways to benefit the population that I work with. Many of the youth are displaced from their homes due to violence, abuse, and neglect. They are diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorders and have been placed in treatment to address chronic trauma histories.
